WHO WE ARE

Welcome to Castle Rock Youth Cycling Club (we go by Castle Rock Crankers). We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) middle and high school cycling team based in Castle Rock, Colorado and affiliated with the Colorado High School Cycling League.

RIDE WITH

STRENGTH & JOY

Whether it’s to race in the local series or just get out and conquer that big ride, the Crankers will develop your stamina and continue to refine your skills in a group setting with friendly and experienced coaches. Our primary goal is to make life-long riders that love the sport.

The Crankers will be attending local races to support our riders who choose to test their fitness and skills in a competitive environment. Racing is not a requirement, but we encourage everyone to try!

 OUR PROGRAMS

ride with us

There’s a world of difference between just riding a bike and loving the ride. Our programs provide a comprehensive overview of fundamental skills with progressive development to improve riders at all skill levels so they can hit the trails with confidence and excitement.

“It’s not about the destination, it’s about the ride.”

SKILLS CAMPS

offered in the summer and fall

Are you new to mountain biking or just joining the Crankers for the first time?

Great! Start by participating in our weekend skills camps, offered once in the summer and once in the fall. They include a comprehensive overview of fundamental skills with progressive development to improve riding for all skill levels. For the safety of our riders,
Skills Camps are a prerequisite for those riders participating in our Summer and Fall Sessions / High School Race season programs.

>> New Riders: Learn basic bike fit, braking, shifting, cornering, bike/body positioning, and climbing tips.

>> Experienced Riders: Learn advanced skills in body positioning, braking, cornering, climbing, drops, and foundations to jumping.

SESSIONS / HIGH SCHOOL RACING

summer session and Fall Race season

Our Summer and Fall sessions are where the rubber meets the rocks! All middle and high school riders practice together, and are paired together in riding groups with comparable skills and speed.

Every other weekend in the fall, High School riders head out to the high country to compete against other schools throughout Colorado, Wyoming, New Mexico and South Dakota.

Local high school mountain bike racing teams include Castle View, Douglas County, and Renaissance Secondary.

Racing is not a requirement for anyone, but who knows, if your teen tries it, they might love it!
